- Plan your storage space before filling it. Place items you may need to access often in front. Leave walk-ways.
- Stack items two inches from wall for circulation.
- Place any shelving against wall for storage of small items and boxes.
- Store mattresses and couches (in covers) upright on end.
- Disassemble tables and store on edge. Wrap and mark legs.
- Leave refrigerator doors slightly ajar. Store blankets, towels, and linens inside.
- Do not store combustible items such as paint, paint thinner, gasoline, solvents, etc. Drain gas from power equipment.
Boxes
- Fill completely, close and tape securely.
- Number and list partial contents on each side of box.
- Keep inventory list of items by box. Keep the list in safe place at home or safe deposit box.
Breakables
- Wrap dishes and glassware in bubble wrap or foam and place in a Dish Pack Box (Glassware/Dish Pack Inserts are available).
